Hi everyone, welcome to Simple Easy Drawing! Today, we’re going to learn how to draw a house. If you’re looking for a house drawing easy and fun to follow, this tutorial is just right for you. You can finish it in under two minutes. Yes, it’s that simple and fun! This little project is one of my favorites because anyone can do it, no matter your age or skill level.
A house is one of the first things most people love to draw. It’s warm, welcoming, and such a happy symbol of home. Whether you imagine a cozy cottage or a colorful home with a red roof, this drawing lets you use your creativity. You’ll only need a few shapes to get started, and by the end, you’ll have a cute little house ready to color in.
Here’s an easy step by step tutorial that will help you create a simple and easy house drawing.

Materials you will need:
- A piece of paper
- An HB pencil
- A dust-free eraser
- A black sketch pen for outlines
- Crayons or color pencils for coloring
Let’s get started!
Please note: In each step, the new parts of the drawing will be highlighted in orange, while everything you’ve already drawn will stay in black.
Step 1: Draw the base of the house

Start with a rectangle in the center of your page. This will be the main part of your house. Try to keep it neat — it’s okay if the lines aren’t perfect!
Step 2: Add the roof

Draw a triangle on top of the rectangle to make the roof. Extend the sides a little so it looks like a real roof with edges.
Step 3: Draw the door

In the middle of the rectangle, draw a small door. Add a tiny circle for the doorknob. That’s the entrance to your cute little home!
Step 4: Add windows

Draw two small squares one on each side of the door. Then, add a cross inside each square to create window panes.
Step 5: Draw a chimney

Add a small rectangle on top of the roof for the chimney. You can place it on whichever side you like best.
Step 6: Outline and color

Now trace over your pencil lines with a black sketch pen. Once it’s outlined, bring your house to life with color!
You can color the walls pink, the roof red, and the windows blue — or any shades you love.
We’re all done!
And that’s it. you’ve just learnt how to draw a house. If you liked this tutorial, don’t forget to share it with your friends.

You can also save the full step-by-step image above and draw later at your own pace. Plus, I’ve added a printable house coloring page — a clean outline version you can print and color anytime!

Keep practicing, and soon, you’ll be able to draw a house quickly and confidently. Try adding little extras next time like trees, flowers, or even a pet sitting outside.
