Hi everyone, welcome to another tutorial in Simple Easy Drawing! Today, we’re going to learn how to draw a sheep. If you’re looking for a sheep drawing easy enough for beginners, this tutorial is perfect for you. Whether you’re just starting your drawing journey or simply looking for something fun and relaxing to sketch, you’re going to love this one.
Sheep are some of the cutest and fluffiest animals on the planet. The wool from a single sheep can make up to 10 sweaters or 30 pairs of socks in one year! That’s how soft and useful their fluffy coats are. And also, sheeps are very social animals and love staying in groups. If one sheep moves, the rest usually follow!
Here’s an easy step by step tutorial that will help you create a simple and easy sheep drawing.

Materials you will need:
- A piece of paper
- An HB pencil
- A dust-free eraser
- A black sketch pen for outlines
- Crayons or color pencils for coloring
Let’s get started with our easy sheep drawing!
Please note: In each step, the new parts of the drawing will be highlighted in orange in the reference image, while everything you’ve already drawn will stay in black.
Step 1: Draw the head

Start by drawing a small oval shape. This will be your sheep’s head. Keep it slightly tilted to give the drawing a natural, cute look. Make sure you leave enough space around the oval for the body and ears.
Step 2: Add the ears

Now, add two small curved shapes on each side of the oval for the ears. Sheep have floppy little ears, so make them slightly rounded. Place them at an angle so they look soft and natural.
Step 3: Create the fluffy body

Here comes the fun part! From the bottom of one ear, start drawing a wavy, cloud-like shape around the head. These bouncy curves represent the sheep’s wool. Keep going until you complete the fluffy outline of the body. Remember, it doesn’t need to be perfect—imperfection actually makes it look cuter!
Step 4: Draw the legs and tail

Sheep legs are small and simple. Draw four straight vertical lines under the fluffy body. Keep the front two lines slightly apart and the back two lines closer together for balance. Add a small oval behind the body to draw a tail.
Step 5: Add the facial features

Now, let’s bring your sheep to life! Draw two tiny dots for the eyes and a small curved line for the smile. Add a little nose in the middle to complete the face. You can draw this however you prefer to your liking.
Step 6: Finalize the details

Use your black sketch pen to trace over your entire drawing. This will make the outline bold and clean. Once the ink dries, gently erase any pencil marks. Finally, use your crayons or color pencils to add life to your sheep. Traditionally, sheep are white or cream, but feel free to get creative! You can make a grey sheep, a pastel sheep, or even a rainbow-colored one.
We’re all done!
And that’s it—you’ve just learned how to draw a sheep. If you liked this tutorial, don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.

I’ve attached a full step by step picture so you can save it and draw later at your own pace. I’ve also added a printable sheep coloring page. It’s a clean outline version of the drawing that you can print and use to color in.

Keep practicing, and soon, you’ll be able to create an easy sheep drawing without even looking at a tutorial. Drawing gets better the more you do it, so don’t give up!
