Hi everyone! Grab your pencils because today we’re going to learn how to draw spider web. Did you know that a spider can spin it’s web in just a few hours, and they’re strong enough to hold insects many times their size. Yup, that’s how strong it is. People love drawing spider webs around Halloween, but honestly, they’re fun to sketch any time of the year. And here’s the best part—you can finish this spider web in under a minute!
Here’s an easy step by step tutorial that will help you create a simple spider web to draw.

Materials you will need
- A piece of paper
- An HB pencil
- A dust-free eraser
- A black sketch pen for outlines
- Crayons or color pencils for coloring (optional)
Let’s get started
Please note: In each step, the new parts of the drawing will be highlighted in orange in the reference image, while everything you’ve already drawn will stay in black.
Step 1: Draw a cross

Start by drawing a big cross in the middle of your page. This gives us the base to build our web.
Step 2: Add diagonal lines

Next, draw two diagonal lines through the cross to make an “X.” Now you should have eight straight lines radiating out from the center, just like the spokes of a wheel.
Step 3: Connect the ends with curves

Now comes the fun part! Start connecting each of the lines with small curved shapes. It should start to look like the outer edge of a web. I would recommend to start thing slightly below the end point of the lines.
Step 4: Add a second ring inside

Move a little closer to the middle and connect the lines again with another set of curves. This makes your web look fuller. You can stop here, or add more layers if you want a bigger, fancier web.
Step 5: Outline your web

Trace over all your lines with a black sketch pen. Once the ink dries, erase the pencil marks. Now you’ve got a bold and clean spider web!
We’re all done!

And that’s it—you’ve just learnt how to draw a spider web step by step. Easy, right? Now whenever you need a drawing of spider webs, whether you’re decorating for Halloween, doodling in your notebook, you can easily remember and follow this.
I’ve also added a step-by-step picture guide so you can save it and practice again later. And if you want a spider to go along in this drawing, here is a easy step by step drawing tutorial for that. This will teach you how to draw a spider and web easily together.
