If you’ve spent any time on Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest lately, you’ve probably seen this fun color drawing challenge popping up everywhere. The idea is simple: start with a colored shape and turn it into something creative using your imagination. I thought it would be fun to create a printable version that you can enjoy at home, in the classroom, or whenever you’re looking for a relaxing creative activity. Whether you’re a kid, a beginner, a teacher, a homeschooling parent looking for a creative art activity, or someone who simply enjoys doodling, these worksheets are a great way to challenge your imagination and have fun drawing. They can be used by both kids and beginners alike. Let’s begin!
Green Color Drawing Challenge
Green is one of my favorite colors for this exercise because it naturally lends itself to plants, animals, and all kinds of nature-inspired drawings. For this worksheet, I turned the green blobs into a frog, green apple, tennis ball, tree, turtle, kiwi, cactus, grapes, leaf, avocado, alien, and broccoli. Feel free to use these examples as inspiration, but try not to rely on them too much. The real fun begins when you start spotting your own ideas hidden inside each shape. Once you’ve looked at the examples, grab a pencil and see what creative drawings you can come up with on your own.
Here is the completed version to give you a bit of visual inspiration before you start, along with the blank exercise worksheet for you to print out.

Yellow Color Drawing Challenge
Yellow is a fantastic color for bright, cheerful, and everyday objects. For this worksheet, I turned the yellow blobs into a flower, egg, sun, bee, balloon, pineapple, lemonade, cheese, chick, bulb, mango, and corn. Feel free to use these examples as inspiration, but don’t be afraid to think beyond them. There are countless yellow things hiding in plain sight, and part of the challenge is discovering ideas that nobody else thought of. Once you’ve explored the examples, grab a pencil and see what creative drawings you can come up with on your own.

Red Color Drawing Challenge
Red is a color that instantly grabs your attention, which makes it perfect for this creative drawing challenge. When I looked at these red blobs, I started spotting all kinds of fun ideas hiding inside them. Some I turned them into a strawberry, ladybug, jellyfish, crab, rose, beetroot, snail, lollipop, candy, mushroom, popsicle, and watermelon. But those are just the ideas I saw. Take a moment to study each shape, let your imagination wander, and see where it takes you.
The examples below show the ideas I came up with, but don’t stop there. Print the blank worksheet and see if you can fill every shape with something different from my list.
