Hi everyone, welcome to Simple Easy Drawing! Today we are going to learn how to draw a house, and this lesson is made especially for kids. This project is very close to my heart because I love being at home. I know for so many of us, home is the place where our favorite memories are made.
We are drawing a simple, countryside style house today. It is the kind of house you might see on a quiet backroad with a big front lawn and plenty of open space around it. We will use simple shapes and you can finish your drawing in just a few minutes. Grab a pencil and let’s draw a happy home together
Here’s an easy step by step tutorial that will help you create a simple and easy house drawing.

Materials you will need:
- A piece of paper
- An HB pencil
- A dust-free eraser
- A black sketch pen for outlines
- Crayons or color pencils for coloring
Let’s get started!
Please note: In each step, the new parts of the drawing will be highlighted in orange, while everything you’ve already drawn will stay in black.
Step 1: Draw the base of the house

Start with a rectangle in the center of your page. This will be the main part of your house. Try to keep it neat — it’s okay if the lines aren’t perfect!
Step 2: Add the roof

Draw a triangle on top of the rectangle to make the roof. Extend the sides a little so it looks like a real roof with edges.
Step 3: Draw the door

In the middle of the rectangle, draw a small door. Add a tiny circle for the doorknob. That’s the entrance to your cute little home!
Step 4: Add windows

Draw two small squares one on each side of the door. Then, add a cross inside each square to create window panes.
Step 5: Draw a chimney

Add a small rectangle on top of the roof for the chimney. You can place it on whichever side you like best.
Step 6: Outline and color

Now trace over your pencil lines with a black sketch pen. Once it’s outlined, bring your house to life with color!
You can color the walls pink, the roof red, and the windows blue — or any shades you love.
We’re all done!
And that’s it. you’ve just learnt how to draw a house. If you liked this tutorial, don’t forget to share it with your friends.

You can also save the full step-by-step image above and draw later at your own pace. Plus, I’ve added a printable house coloring page — a clean outline version you can print and color anytime!

Keep practicing, and soon, you’ll be able to draw a house quickly and confidently. Try adding little extras next time like trees, flowers, or even a pet sitting outside.
