Today I have a cool drawing activity for you. This is a drawing worksheet, where you need to finish the drawing. Instead of showing you exactly what to draw, I give you a simple starting point and you decide what happens next.
This time, your starting point is a glass.
There’s no picture to copy and no set way to finish it. You can take the drawing in any direction you like and use your own imagination to finish the picture. I created this kind of worksheet to encourage kids to be creative and think outside the box. But it isn’t just for kids. Parents, teachers, and anyone who enjoys drawing can give it a try too. You could even print a few copies and do it together as friends or family. Everyone starts with the same glass, and honestly it will be so fun to see how different the finished drawings can be. So, grab something to draw with, and let’s get started!

I’ve made this drawing worksheet as a free PDF that you can download and print.
The glass is already there on the page. Your job is to decide what you want it to become and add your own drawing around it. You can use a pencil, crayons, coloured pencils, markers, or whatever you have at home.
You could start by asking yourself:
- What does the shape of the glass remind me of?
- Could it become part of a larger picture?
- What is the first unusual idea that comes to mind?
- Can I think outside the box and make it something unexpected?
You don’t have to decide everything before you put your pencil on the paper. Sometimes one little idea is enough to get you started. Draw that, then see what comes next. The whole point is to finish the picture in your own way.
Look what other kids created
I always enjoy seeing what people come up with when they’re given a simple starting shape and allowed to take the drawing in their own direction. These are three examples from this glass worksheet, and I think they show just how different the same starting point can become.
1. A mountain scene
I really love this one. The glass became part of a little mountain scene with mountains, the sun, and water, and I think it’s such a creative idea. Instead of simply turning the glass into another object, they used the shape as part of a whole scene and built the rest of the picture around it.
I honestly wouldn’t have immediately thought of mountains when looking at a glass, which is exactly why I enjoy seeing these drawings. Kids can look at a simple shape and imagine something completely different from what an adult might see.
2. A flower pot
This one became a flower pot, and the shape of the glass actually works really well for it. The glass becomes the pot, and the flowers are added coming out, so you can immediately see how the original shape was used.
I like this one because it doesn’t need lots of extra details. The idea is simple, but it completely changes what the glass looks like.
3. Popcorn
And this one became popcorn! I think this one is so cute. The glass was turned into a popcorn container, with popcorn coming out of the top, and just those few extra details were enough to create a completely different picture.
It’s a good example of how you don’t need a complicated idea to finish the drawing. Sometimes all you need is one simple thought and a few lines to take the picture somewhere new.
